The experience of visiting the disobedient objects exhibition in V&A Museum is very new for me. The traditional arts style cannot be compared with this one. You must want to ask me, what is disobedient object? Disobedient objects come from our life and are still in our life, they are mixture of life and art. I have even seen some exhibits by myself, such as this one, which made by protestors of tuition fee in UK and USA. Only few months ago, such items filled the each schoolyard around UK. At that time, I had no idea about art having any relationship with tuition fee. But when I saw the paperboard in the window, I found that the paperboard has soul. The words on it are not only letters. The words are symbol of people’s anger. They were very angry about the unfair payment.
People always say that art and design are born from normal life. The disobedient objects show us that indeed. From the material and the idea, we can see all the exhibits are of life. The exhibits are almost made by hand. These designers are major normal people, not professional artists. The makers use the material are from normal life. Always, the materials are garbage or something easy to be ignored. But, the designers can use these things to explain something deeper. In one exhibit, the designer use bespoke teacup and saucer to encourage people against violence to women. This exhibit is very simple. Every people can have one set of bespoke teacup and saucer in their kitchen room. If they are not in museum’s window, my eyes will never on them more than one second. There is only one mark, which makes up by a woman with a trumpet in hand, behind the lady, there are four letters-WSPU (Women’s Social and Political Union). This mark added on the fragile tea set let me have a deep consider about the hummer rights.
